CENTAJOINT coupling
01 Jul 2004
They say the new CENTAJOINT/AGM/ACV coupling eliminates the need for a UJ shaft and replaces this with the link assembly which has more sound attenuation than the UJ, allows flexibility and facilitates a longer shaft reach. This mounts directly onto the gearbox output flange and provides a flexible coupling solution that helps to eliminate noise and vibration created through engine movement.
Centa says the new CENTAJOINT shaft consists of a series of highly efficient links that use flexible rubber bushes to isolate the components and provide the required movement, without wearing the metal. Significantly, they claim, it does not require any lubrication, which is a major benefit given the limited access under the gear box which can often mean that maintenance is overlooked.
This enables this new allCenta coupling to compensate for axial, radial and angular misalignment, eliminate backlash and provide a costefficient and maintenance-free solution for riverboats and marine vessels.
