18,000Btu aircon for OEM and aftermarket

New for 2004 from Dometic is an 18,000 Btu self-contained seawater -cooled heat pump air conditioning system, providing efficient, highcapacity cooling and heating in a compact, low-profile, lightweight package.

The new system is being sold under the Cruisair and Marine Air brand names to boatbuilders for installation in new boats and through Cruisair and Marine Air dealers to the aftermarket. It was developed by Dometic to provide extra capacity and flexibility with only a small increase in weight and amperage draw over a 16,000 Btu system.

Based on Dometic's patented space-saving design, which incorporates the condenser inside the blower shroud, the high-efficiency rotary compressor provides quiet operation and optimum cooling capacity and dehumidification.

The unit draws only 11.1 amps in the cooling mode and 15.4 amps in the heating mode, and can be operated on a 30amp circuit breaker or shore power cord.

The air conditioning units are pre-charged, leak-checked and test-run in all operating modes at the factory. Charge Guard protection provides sealed access ports, ensuring environmental protection and system integrity.

Like all Dometic boat air conditioning systems, the new unit meets or exceeds all applicable ABYC and US Coast Guard specifications, CE directives and ARI standards.
