    On May 11 the US Senate passed legislation to repeal its controversial export tax regime by a 92-5 vote. The vote marks a major milestone in the efforts of Congress to eliminate tax breaks ruled illegal by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2002 and lift European Union sanctions now being faced by dozens of US exports.
