Garmin phases out G-Chart support
01 Jun 2004
G-Chart cartography is used in Garmin's chartplotters that are now discontinued, such as the GPSMAP 130/135/175/180/185/ 210/215/220/225/230 and 235.
The company recommends customers should take this opportunity to upgrade their G-Chart plotter to a new BlueChart system. BlueChart - Garmin's own proprietary cartography - offers state of the art marine cartography that's fully integrated with all current and future Garmin Chartplotters.
Garmin claims BlueChart systems are now widely regarded as providing the best plotter/cartography solutions available today.
Garmin will run an upgrade programme for all current GChart plotter users in the UK & Eire, offering £55 ex VAT off the purchase price of a BlueChart plotter and 25% discount off the retail price of the equivalent BlueChart cartography. This will be subject to the return of the customer's old G-chart card; discount will apply on a one-to-one card exchange.
The offer is available until January 31, 2005.
