Giles working on 'largest motor yacht since Britannia'
01 Jun 2004
Lymington naval architects Laurent Giles is working on what it says is the largest motor yacht to be built in this country since the royal yacht Britannia 50 years ago, writes Iain Sutherland.
Code named project Lana for an undisclosed owner, the yacht is 76 metres long and packed with all the toys one would expect of this sort of vessel.
Designed by Nick Myers and Joe Tohme and being built by Devonport Yachts it is due for launch early next year.
Laurent Giles managing director Barry van Geffen said the firm was also busy on among other things, a 130 metre motor yacht.
