The Classic air conditioning systems are, they say, inexpensive, unobtrusive and highly efficient.

There are eight models in the range with cooling capacities from 1.5kW to 8.8kW. All are simple to install or retrofit due to pre-filled cooling circuit and prefabricated wiring harness and the systems dehumidify as well as cool.

All have automatic operation, are constructed from salt water resistant materials and use an environmentally friendly refrigerant.

The low maintenance systems offer an optional reverse-flow heating function.

The Blue Cool Premium chiller/water range is, says Webasto, ideal for larger yachts and power craft.

Each totally integrated Premium chiller air conditioning system comprises a cooling unit and one or more fan-type heat exchangers.

Normally installed in the engine room, the central unit cools water, which is then distributed via a pipe network to the fan-type heat exchangers in the cabins.

The fans induct ambient cabin air, then feed out air that has been both cooled and dehumidified.

Electronic climate controllers enable the selection of individual "comfort zone" temperatures in each cabin.

Features and materials are similar to those of the Classic range, but Webastos says this 12 model range features increased cooling capacities from 3.5kW to 14.6kW, plus the convenience of optional reverse cycle heating. Larger units with capacities up to 150kW are available.

Webasto says it now has specialist installation companies for its complete product range in Ardrossan, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton, Norwich and Poole.

These companies are in turn supported by a national network of 33 strategically located dealers, says Webasto.

The company is now represented in 27 countries, with production plants in 15.

The group achieved sales of 1.28 billion in the 2002 financial year and now employs 5,200 worldwide.
