Discovery Yachts wins top US award

Discovery Yachts of Marchwood, Southampton, received the Luxury Cruiser Boat of the Year 2004 award in the United States for its Ron Hollanddesigned Discovery 55.
The award comes from Cruising World magazine, whose five inspectors made three visits to each boat - including sailing trials. It is the first time a British yacht has won this award.
"This award comes at the perfect time as we launch into the United States market, " said Discovery's managing director, John Charnley.
The Discovery 55 also took SAIL magazine's Best Boats 2004 award.
