Easylok for silent running

Lake Engineering says its Easylok shaft lock gives more boat speed, does away with shaft noise under sail, avoids unnecessary wear and tear on the shaft bearing and gearbox and overcomes those unfeathering props.

With the shaft locked, says Lake, the blades on feathering propellers can rotate to their correct position giving the full benefit of the low drag factor of the propellers. It also stops the irritating noise that the shaft and gear train produces when under sail.

The Easylok unit consists of a fixed housing and a rotating disc fixed to the shaft that has two half notches to hold the rotation.

The unit is activated by a cable operated plunger. The unit disengages automatically as soon as the engine starts.

Easylok units are available for shafts from 3/4 and cable lengths up to 20".
