White gets first Mic Randle award
01 Mar 2004
With his business Waterwise of Swansea, Randle actively supported the sport, the industry and Wales as a true ambassador.
Following his tragic death in June 2003, his many friends felt his work should be remembered through an annual award to the individual meeting the highest levels of on-water training whilst instilling a feeling of mutual respect for other water users.
The first recipient of the Mic Randle Memorial Award is Peter White, RYA Powerboat Trainer of Seafever International in Sussex. He received the award from Val Randle at the Marine Engine & Equipment Manufacturers (MEEMA) dinner during the 2004 London Boat Show.
"I am deeply honoured to receive this award, " said White.
"Mic had an attitude towards fun and excitement that was perfectly balanced by an awareness of the importance of safety and an unrivalled duty of care. I will endeavour to maintain his ideals."
