Freeman hatches from Aqua-Marine
01 May 2004
They say the hatches are fast acting and easy to use with a built in T-handle which sits flush in a slot when the hatch is locked, making it easy to tell if the hatch is secure. Evenly spaced dogging arms exert uniform sealing pressure on the cover plate and assures smooth consistent action over the years.
Only a quarter turn is required to completely disengage the locking mechanism and correct adjustment when fitted prevents over or under tightening.
The hatches use a double sealing gasket and are designed to seal up to 30ft intermittent head. The extra pressure actually increases the sealing performance.
The easy lift system allows simple removal and can be lifted out with one hand. They say on hinged models the hinging device allows the hatch to be opened more than 180infinity and "floats" when closed to facilitate a tight, even seal.
All hatches have approvals from Lloyd's Register, US Coast Guard, CE, ABS, Bureau Veritas and more and are currently used on US Coast Guard and Naval craft of all types. Freeman also comply with ISO9001:2000.
Standard opening sizes are available up to O 762mm for round hatches with various sizes available for oval and square hatches.
