Southco's new flush push latch
01 May 2004
This new latch is ideal, they say, for applications requiring a high degree of corrosion resistance and durability, or any application requiring a sealed compression latch with a flush panel surface where a highly aesthetic appearance is sought.
The new latch is the latest addition to the M1 latch family and uses its 4mm of compression to reduce vibration and compress gaskets on a door or panel frame. The latches are sealed to achieve an IP-65/NEMA 4 rating for critical sealing applications.
Operating the flush-turn latch is easy, they say. Simply lift the handle to relieve the compression, then turn to unlatch. To store the handle flush while the latch is open, turn the handle 180infinity and fold it into the latch cup.
The two-inch latch installs easily into a round two-inch (50mm) hole with two supplied mounting screws, leaving no protruding hardware. Gaskets and "O" rings are also provided for sealing. In addition, six pawl options are available to meet a range of application needs and panel thicknesses.
After installation, the pawl can be adjusted for a custom fit.
