Vic Ireland died in the early hours of Easter Saturday, losing his battle against cancer of the oesophagus.
Starting his working life in the print industry, Ireland's love of boats and racing took him to Bason & Arnold of Chiswick. He then joined Bolinders and later Volvo Penta, becoming sales manager for the spare parts division before joining Aquafax.
He worked for Aquafax of Luton for 17 years as director of specialist sales and was primarily responsible for its success in steering, controls, bow thrusters and more recently Sanispit Macerators.
Ireland lived near Luton with his wife Hazel and leaves two grown up sons.
