Marina focus at METS

A one-day Marina Seminar is to be held on Wednesday November 17. Aimed exclusively at marina operators, developers and equipment providers, the seminar focuses on subjects that are key to successful marina management and reflect current industry trends.

Organised by Marina World magazine, the seminar will be chaired by Jon Eads CMM, marina director for Marina Developments, Europe's largest independent marina operator.

Morning sessions cover superyacht facilities and environmental management, where Simon Arrol of Camper & Nicholsons Marinas will discuss various aspects of the design and management of superyacht marinas and Capt. Tony Watson of US company Centek Marine Environmental products, will give advice on how to guard against pollution in the marina and boatyard and Ger Gijsen of Dutch firm Seijsener will present an overview on pump-out issues.

The afternoon programme turns first to risk management with a paper from Stephen Loader of MarinaSure that may make delegates review their current insurance arrangements?.

The final three papers are devoted to drystack storage, the landside option finding increasing favour around the world.

The cost of attending the Marina Seminar is £60, ?90 or US$100 per delegate and pre-registration is available on marinaworld. com For additional information, email seminar@marinaworld.co.uk
