Henry Nicholson-Cole and Simon Crawford (pictured above) have been appointed technical sales representatives as additions to the existing sales force, while Claire Desty joins as a technical services assistant.

All three appointments at Marineware are expansion-led.

Matt Johnston has been named sales manager of Navtec's custom yacht rigging and hydraulic systems in Holland.

His new role will complement his position as head of custom sales for the company's United Kingdom office, to which he was appointed several months earlier.

Johnston, who has been with Navtec since 2001, was previously in charge of the architectural sales group. His primary objective is to increase sales of Navtec's rod rigging and hydraulic systems in Northern Europe.

Prior to joining Navtec, Johnston was the sales manager for Holt Sailboat Hardware.

BoatingBusiness Suzie Marsh has been appointed marketing services coordinator at McMurdo. She will assist with all the worldwide sales and marketing support generated by McMurdo for its products in the commercial and leisure marine sectors.

A graduate in English and Creative Studies from Portsmouth University, prior to joining McMurdo, Marsh worked as a Marketing Assistant at PETA Ltd.

Michael Scott has been appointed by Ocean Safety to run the rapidly expanding team at its new depot at Port Glasgow, with responsibility for the entire Ocean Safety operation in Scotland.

Scott was formerly general manager (Scotland) for Viking which he joined in 1994 when the Danish marine safety specialist acquired Scottish firm R.C. Murray.

Twenty years in the marine safety business have seen Scott take on a broad variety of roles covering product ranges as diverse as lifejackets and liferafts to the servicing and installation of evacuation systems on ferries.

He has a remit to develop the commercial aspects of the business whilst providing marketing support for the company's leisure-orientated activities.

Jerry Appleyard has been appointed general manager for British Waterways' South east Waterways Unit. He took up the post based in Milton Keynes on September 20, 2004.

Appleyard has been with the Welcome Break Group in a number of roles since 1993, including marketing and hotels director. Prior to that he was general manager for Forte Plc.

He brings customer care, general management and communication skills to the role and will be responsible for delivering BW's objectives for the benefit of all visitors and users of its south east waterways."

Appleyard lives in Teddington with his wife and four children.

Kirsty Hartsiotis has been appointed collections assistant at The National Waterways Museum in Gloucester. She joined The Waterways Trust at the beginning of September.

One of her main tasks will be to interpret the collection for visitors. She will be responsible for the conservation, documentation, acquisition and storage of the collection at Gloucester, reporting to Sophie Lewmar has made a number of key internal promotions in custom and racing products.

Andy Willey now becomes custom projects manager, while Nigel Rosewall is racing projects manager and Stephan Nauck becomes custom hardware manager.

Each manager will be responsFowler, the head of collections.

Hartsiotis has worked in the heritage industry, in both paid and voluntary positions, for the past eight years. She began her career at the National Railway Museum in York, where she worked as an explainer.
