Far from calling time on their 25 years of sponsorship of West Highland Week, Tennent Caledonian Brewery has pledged another five years of support for the popular west coast event, which this year attracted 167 entries in 10 classes, writes Mike Balmforth.
The event dates for 2005 are July 29 to August 5 - more information from the website - whyw. co. uk Clyde Cruising Club's Scottish Series has been supported by stockbrokers Bell Lawrie for the past five years, and this is to continue through 2005 and probably beyond.
The series is well established as one of the British Isles' foremost cruiser-racer events, but CCC is planning some significant changes to the programme for next year by cutting the feeder races in favour of a more concentrated series of inshore races.
The Tarbert based series runs from May 26-31 and, as usual, straddles the second May Public Holiday - information from the website at clyde. org
