Sorry for the confusion . . .

There are times when things go wrong. And when they do, as always, BB is only too happy to set the record straight. So let's look at the September issue of BB . . .
Brett: Marine & General Insurance Services

We start with David Brett, whose picture in our August insurance feature was captioned in such a way that people thought he was leaving the industry, which we are pleased to say he is not.

However, when Portsmouth Poll made an attempt to clear up the situation in the September issue she managed only to make things worse by crediting David Brett with working for another company entirely.

So, to set the record completely straight, David Brett owns and runs Marine & General Insurance Services and has nothing whatsoever to do with Mardon Insurance Brokers UK Ltd.

Next we go to Gerard Wainwright, who is not retiring, but is still playing an active role in Sealine International as non-executive chairman.

Apologies to all for any confusion these errors may have caused.

And we finish with a request from Lilley & Gillie to clarify the position with regard to Michael A Howes, whose move to the company was published in our "People" column in September.

Lilley & Gillie would like us to make it clear that it is acting as a new distributor for PC Maritime to enhance sales efforts to the commercial shipping sector. PC Maritime is still continuing with its leisure market and other activities.

Finally, the company would like us to make it clear to the trade that Lilley & Gillie has only acquired 50% of PC Maritime.
