With the first phase of the project now complete, CMC has published its report covering research from the UK and from around the world, where work pooling already exists, and offering practical guidance for both employers and employees on employment law, health and safety issues and advice on employer insurance issues.

The Workforce Pooling project aims to help marine companies face these challenges through innovative work arrangements whilst providing the basis of growth in this sector.

"Workforce pooling provides an innovative and flexible solution to peaks and troughs in the marine industry, " said Sally Lynskey, managing director of GRP Laminates and project director of the CMC. The project originated from the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) funded Social Dialogue Forum (SDF).
