The change is the result of an alliance formed earlier this year between Moody Yachts International and VT Halmatic for the building of the new, Bill Dixon designed, Moody 49.

Production of the other yachts in the Moody range, the 64 and 54, will move in January 2005.

David Moody, managing director of Moody Yachts, said the company was extremely pleased with progress on production of the new vessel and that being able to work with yacht builders in such close proximity to Moody's base in Swanwick just a few miles away from Porchester was helping the programme.

The Moody 49 is on schedule for its debut at the Schroders London International Boat Show in January 2005 and the following Dusseldorf Boat Show.

Moody added that the allimportant ability to bring new models to market quicker had been a decisive factor in the amicable move from Princess Yachts International.

Production of existing orders will be completed at Princess and deliveries of the first VT Halmatic boats are expected in late 2005.
