The Bugle - open this summer

The Bugle pub in Hamble is to re-open in good time for summer 2005 after extensive restoration, says the developer.

Linden Homes, which completely renovated and restored the Grade II listed property as part of its Hamble Rise scheme of 14 individual houses and apartments, has confirmed that the freehold has been sold to a local operator, enabling The Bugle to once again open its doors to the local community.

The new owner is Ideal Leisure, which also includes in its portfolio the award winning White Star Tavern and Dining Rooms in Oxford Street, Southampton, voted Restaurant of the Year, South and South East for Nov 2003 - 2004 by the highly respected organisation, Les Routiers.

When Linden Homes started work on the site 15 months ago The Bugle was found to be in need of extensive restoration.

This has been completed using traditional materials and methods in close consultation with English Heritage.

Ideal Leisure will continue this good work with such features as natural flagstone floors, a solid oak bar and real open fires.
