Dubarry's injection moulded soles

Dubarry's 2005 range sees the introduction of injection moulded technology to sole applications, so instead of stitching and glueing, the sole is now bonded directly to the leather upper.

The upper is presented to a mould containing the rubber outsole. Hot polyurethane (PU) is then injected into the cavity between the rubber outsole and the upper in liquid format. It forms an immediate simultaneous bond to both outsole and upper and is then allowed to dry, forming what Dubarry claims is the most durable bond available in footwear technology today.

The new sole is used on the Shamrock, Stretch Shamrock and the Ultima boot.
