Oceanair wins 2nd Queen's Award for Enterprise

Oceanair Marine was presented with its Queen's Award for Enterprise last month by the Lord Lieutenant, Hugh Wyatt, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen at Oceanair's headquarters in Selsey.

The Queen's Award for Enterprise differs from personal honours because it recognises the achievement of the successful business unit as a whole - management and employees working as a team.

Oceanair employs 88 people, is a world leader in blind, screen and shade systems with an annual turnover of £4m.

Overseas sales increased by 75% over the past three years and 80% of its boat blinds and screens are now exported.

"I am very proud that Oceanair has won this award especially for the second time in only four years, " said managing director Andy FitzGerald. "When I started the business 15 years ago I was considered mad, but now with my strong team Oceanair products are standard fit for fine boats and superyachts."
