Dear Mr Nash, In the past Boating Business has been fairly harsh in its criticism of the British Marine Federation (BMF) and, while I am not saying that industry bodies should not be held to task on occasions, there are also times when a little praise is necessary and I feel this is such an occasion.

Over the past week the Fort Lauderdale Boat show has been in chaos following the untimely passing of hurricane Wilma. With many UK marine companies intending to attend the show it was a delight to be kept up to date, at hourly intervals at some points, by Toby Allies of the BMF, who I would like to congratulate via your organ on his approach to this crisis and keeping us informed, as much as he could, throughout.

I am sure that you will agree that when praise is necessary it should be given openly and I do hope that you feel it is appropriate to print this as thanks to Toby on behalf of those UK companies and personnel involved in this unfortunate event.

Yours Clive Bartlett Saltwater
