EmpirBus uses intelligent and compact i/o modules interconnected with each other via a single 1-pair bus cable. This cable reduces the need for control cables, which ensures that they are kept to a minimum.

The units are equipped with current sensors, which further reduce cabling, and materials as conventional fuses and circuit breakers are omitted. The bus is based on CAN, which is a widely accepted communication standard known for safe operation in harsh conditions.
