BMF Scotland Technical Forum
01 Feb 2005
If so - BMF Scotland is helping by holding a Technical Forum on February 17, at which both members and nonmembers are welcome.
The forum will be held at the new Audi Centre in Glasgow and will include a presentation by Dr Julian Hunter and Kathy Meades of International Paints covering the application and disposal of antifouling as well as other H&S matters relevant to surface coatings.
Nik Parker, BMF technical director, will give a wide ranging technical update which will include the latest H&S information on vibration, dust and solvents and working at height. He will also be looking ahead at fuel cell technology and the role of the National Composites Network and what it can do for our industry.
Gary Sutcliffe of Lee Sanitation will talk about standardising deck and dockside pumpout fittings, very relevant in Scotland where most marinas and harbours have yet to install such facilities.
Bill Cleghorn of Cleghorn Waring will be talking about the boat threatening dangers inherent in calorifiers when they are not fitted with the correct temperature and pressure relief valve.
Thanks to support by International Paints and Blakes Paints, there will only be a small charge for attending.
Information and booking details can be obtained from BMF-S secretary Mike Balmforth - Tel: 01369 870251. E-mail:
