Lancing's new Castoldi jets

Lancing Marine is offering several new products for 2005, including Castoldi's recently released model 238HC water jet, so titled because it has a built-in hydraulic clutch instead of the dog clutch used in earlier units.

The unit has also undergone a complete redesign, says Lancing, and now suits the common 12infinity transom angle, like most sterndrives, as opposed to the previous requirement of a vertical transom. The power rating has also been increased to 350HP.

Lancing is also offering Castoldi's range of jet tenders - all diesel powered with speeds in the 30-40knot region and ranging from 14ft to 23ft.

The range includes the Rescue Tender 14, which is MCA approved as the rescue boat for large motor cruisers and for superyachts over 500GRT.

Lancing tell us the L M Transomdrive range of surface drives has been extended to include a 17" version of drive systems where twin rigs us a single transom-mounted rudder instead of a rudder behind each propeller.

This system, says Lancing, has been run for the last year on the company's Sunseeker Apache with less vibration, better top speed and better fuel economy were seen.
