Scottish Boat Show goes again in 2005
01 Jan 2005
Over 60 vessels from across the country were exhibited at the August event attracting thousands of visitors on site over the three days.
Planning is now underway for the third show which will take place from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th August 2005. Commenting on the announcement Richard Millar, event director and waterway manager for the Lowland Canals told Boating Business: "Exhibitor and visitor feedback from the 2004 event showed that interest in water based leisure pursuits is continuing to increase following the reopening of the Lowland Canals a few years ago. With two successful shows under our belt and planning now underway for 2005 we can safely say that the Scottish Boat Show at The Falkirk Wheel is now a firm fixture in the UK boating calendar."
The 2004 event had a range of vessels on show including powerboats, indestructible and unsinkable craft, fibreglass motor boats, wooden boats, coastal and canal cruisers, yachts, canoes and a newly designed 13 metre leisure puffer.
Daily activities included short presentations on how to buy a boat, the unique Clown Boat Safety Show, pipe bands and face painting for the children.
