Spinlock's new slant on harnesses
01 Jan 2005
Claiming to be the first significant innovation in personal safety equipment for several decades, the products adapt mountain safety technology to meet the demands of sailing.
Both deck harnesses and body harnesses have an instantly adjustable belt system to give the best fit around the body. And, as Spinlock's Deckware manager, Nanga Nengerman says, if the harness is comfortable and looks good, sailors won't have any problem about wearing it all the time.
The deck harness is, says Spinlock, faster and easier to put on and allows for better freedom of movement for both male and female wearers. It's also available with an integral lifejacket.
Both deck and mast harnesses use thigh straps to hold everything in place, giving quite a secure feeling. A new slant on harnesses that's worth a closer look.
