Underwater inspection kit

Launched at METS, Scubar is an underwater camera system that seems to be very well designed and thought out. It can be used to inspect the hull for checking anodes, anchor suitability, fouled props, barnacle growth and many more applications.

The unit has a high resolution camera attached by a flexible neck to a 4.5m extendable pole. The camera transmits colour video images to a 5.6" flatscreen TFT monitor.

The monitor is housed in a durable splash-proof and lightweight carry case and can be used freestanding or worn around neck with strap.

The case also contains a 12v rechargeable power supply, complete with battery charger.

The flexible camera neck can be bent to any required angle for access to the most inaccessible areas and will also slide out to attach to the monitor to become a hand held inspection tool.

The camera also houses its own LED light source to allow for excellent visibility in the murkiest of water. The video on the stand was impressive in picture quality, especially as it was shot in Port Hamble.

Current buyers include charter companies, marina operators and surveyors, but individual owners are also in the target market for these easy to use bit of kit.
