100 amp adaptors add flexibility

As boats get bigger, some marina electrical supplies can struggle to provide enough power to run the boat's onboard systems.

US company Hubbell Marine Electrical Products says it has manufactured the perfect solution - a pair of 100-amp adaptors designed for use in marinas where 50-amp power is standard.

Hubbell says as more and more boats built throughout the world require a minimum of 100amp service the company developed a special line of fittings, cablesets and adaptors to service the market.

The company currently offers two marine adapters for 100-amp shore power systems: the HBL61CM100, single, 100amp adapter; and the YQ100 reverse-Y adapter.

Both units feature Hubbell Pin & Sleeve devices, long considered standard for these connections, they say. They allow safe access to power at the dock where only 50-amp, 125/ 250-volt outlets are available.

Built with Hubbell's specially designed, fully moulded, watertight enclosures, the company's 100-amp adapters are completely corrosion resistant and UV stabilised. They also match most 100-amp systems and replacement components currently available.
