Driftgate's battery protector

The X-CISE battery protector monitors the selected battery voltage and when it reaches a pre-determined low level. The level is usually 12.3 for 12v systems or 24.6v for 24v systems, but can be factory set for different levels.

The selected circuits are cut out by a remote relay after a predetermined time, usually four minutes, but this can, again, be factory set for different times.

This, says Driftgate, saves the battery from deep discharge.

The standard relays offered are rated at 40 or 100amps. A manual reset switch with a combined low voltage warning LED is supplied for panel mounting and allows the relay to be reset if the battery voltage rises above the alarm reset limit.

In addition there is a facility to install an extra switch to override the control unit and reset the relay in an emergency.

The unit will automatically reset if the battery voltage indicates that the engine has been started.

Driftgate says the present model operates one relay and the main unit retails for £158.00 including a 40amp relay plus VAT. A 100amp relay option is offered for an additional £12.00 plus VAT.

The unit is also supplied with a standard two metre plug in loom.
