Marine park for Husbands site
01 Jul 2005
The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) wants to build a marine industry park on the five-hectare Husbands Shipyard site in Marchwood, near Southampton, writes Iain Sutherland.
Situated in a prime location close to the M27, the site boasts two operational slipways and is one of only a handful of waterfront sites available on the Solent.
Both slipways have a 1,000 tonne capacity making it one of the only places in the region where ferry operators can service their fleets.
SEEDA is now seeking applications from developers to undertake a comprehensive regeneration of the site.
