Southampton's ITV deal

Southampton Boat Show organiser, National Boat Shows (NBS), has tied up a deal with ITV Meridian to be this year's official media partner, replacing the Daily Telegraph.

As part of the deal, Meridian will cover the event on Meridian Tonight (South) both ahead and during the 10-day show, which runs from September 16-25 in Southampton.

A statement issued by NBS said the partnership is just one of a number between ITV and the British Marine Federation (BMF), complementing the existing arrangements for Splash Camp and coverage of the London and Southampton shows over recent years through their exclusive programming arrangements.

Meridian will be running a number of competitions during the show, including a sandcastle contest and a beach party to celebrate its 50-year anniversary.

The company will be based in Solent Park, next to the new Sunseeker stand overlooking the extended marina, with live broadcasts from a number of ITV personalities, including Fred Dinenage and Debbie Thrower.
