Heating & Air Conditioning Systems

Stay cool with Blue Cool

Craft interiors heat up remarkably quickly once the sun makes an appearance, even in UK waters, says Webasto. And the problem is obviously magnified if the boat is Mediterranean-based.

Webasto has two specially designed solutions to the problems of boating when below-deck temperatures soar: the Blue Cool Classic - above, right - self-contained air conditioning systems provide the perfect answer for craft with one to three cabins.

Ideal for retro-fit the range comprises eight models with cooling capacities from 1-5kW to 8.8kW. Each model is simple to install, automatic in operation, contains an environmentally friendly refrigerant and dehumidifies as it cools.

All construction is from salt water-resistant materials, so low maintenance is an additional bonus.

Larger yachts and power cruisers will require the Blue Cool Premium chiller/water range - above, left. These comprise a central cooling unit that cools water, which is then distributed via a pipe network to a fan-type heat exchanger in each cabin.

Electronic climate controllers enable the luxury of being able to select individual temperatures throughout the vessel.

The 12 model range includes systems capable of cooling outputs from 3.5kW to 14.6kW, plus the convenience of reverse cycle heating if required. Larger units with capacities up to 150kW are available on request.
