Bossoms changes hands

Tom Ballance the second generation of the Ballance family to run the yard, after 23 years of involvement and what he says was a great deal of soul searching, has decided to dispose of the family's interest in the boatyard on the upper Thames.
Balance told BB his interest now lies in broadening his involvement in the marine industry and he has started a marine consultancy company called Ballance & Co.
He says he will be offering his expertise based on his successful management of Bossoms and is looking for project work. He is also available to Bossoms on a consultancy basis.
The yard, which has been on the river at Binsey since 1830, has its eyes set on the future.
"We're renewing our IT systems and investing in training, " said Andre Jones, hinting at plans to develop fuel cell technology for the yard's electric launches.
