Cleghorn family sells up

The Cleghorn family has sold Cleghorn Waring to ITT Jabsco. The deal, announced at the Schroders London Boat show, will bring the family's involvement with the company to an end after 50 years.

"We're all getting on a bit, " said Bill Cleghorn, oldest of the three brothers. "We felt it was time to take things a bit easier and hand over the reins to ITT Jabsco, which will take the company on to greater things."

The Cleghorn name will remain. "They recognise the value of the Cleghorn brand, " said Cleghorn, "so our name will live on."

Members of the British Marine Federation (BMF) golf society will be pleased to hear that Charles Cleghorn has no plans to buy a new set of Callaways just yet?
