'First NMEA fuel sender'

Offshore Systems (UK) has launched what it claims is the world's first NMEA2000 certified fuel sender.

They say the 3271 NMEA2000 capacitive fuel sender combines the advantages of capacitive sensing with the "plug and play" technology of the NMEA2000 bus. It has no moving parts and is silent in operation.

It is self-calibrating and automatically detects and indicates if the fuel is contaminated with water.

The sender is constructed from A316 stainless steel and is sealed to IP68 to protect it from damage. It is manufactured to the IEC 60945 Maritime Navigational and Radiocommunications Equipment standard to ensure high reliability and troublefree operation for many years.

The sender uses less than 50mA of power from the NMEA2000 bus and is compatible with 12 and 24 volt systems.
