Your Letters British Waterways - copied to BB

I was therefore surprised to receive the enclosed request from the cashiers department that we have an overdue account. I telephoned the person named and left a message but as is the norm with British Waterways the call has not been returned.
According to your article we are not the only people overpaying so if I had not read the original article by Tim Coghlan and raised the matter in the Boating Business magazine how long would this unequality of contracts continued? According to your letter I am to be one of the first on the list, when might that be Mr Froomberg?
We are now into April, thank God I am not at the bottom of the list!
I was telephoned at 8.45am on Monday 21st February by a David Parry from British Waterways who wanted to discuss the contract. On that day we were in the process of having a new electricity control box installed and the electrician was waiting to turn off the supply and as we are on radio telephones I explained the situation and said I was not prepared to discuss the matter over the telephone if he would like to arrange a meeting in the near future that would be fine.
I have had no further contact from him and have learnt since that he was from the Estates Office at Warrington.
British Waterways seem to be perfectly happy that we carry on paying and will sort out the matter when it suits them. I think it is time you all moved into the real world of running a business. We work long hours for little return and we cannot afford to wait for a matter of this importance to be addressed some time in the future. Cash flow is a vital part of running a small business and we certainly do not want to be paying a charge which has been admitted is incorrect I have written to you Mr Froomberg in the hope that you will personally address the matter and not pass it onto someone who is not interested in the problem.
Yours sincerely, P A Jackson (Mrs) Moons Bridge Marina Copy to: Boating Business and Tim Coghlan, Braunston Marina Editor's note:
James Froomberg told BB he had responded to Mrs Jackson, but felt that correspondence between BW and one of its customers/tenants was not right to develop in the public domain.
