Team sailing days

South Devon's Plain Sailing has launched a corporate events division. The sailing school already runs events such as its Round Britain Experience and Round the Channel Experience.

Now it is building on its skills to launch team building, corporate hospitality days and continuous professional development courses.

The school, based in Brixham on the south coast is owned and run by George Turpin, who sees events afloat as unrivalled opportunities for business improvement and team building activities.

"We're convinced a day on the water provides the ideal platform for working together as a team, " he said. "The sport is a team activity requiring individuals to work together and rely on each other to operate the boat effectively."

Plain Sailing has already been recognised by the Law Society for members to gain Continuous Professional Development points. The new corporate events division builds on this giving all types of businesses the opportunity to improve management skills and communication and participate in goal-setting.
