Wotton a Honda winner

Colin Wotton, an outboard motor engineer from SMS Salcombe, recently joined an elite number of specialists when he became one of only 22 Honda master technicians.

He also became Honda's first master technician specifically dedicated to the marine trade.

"The skills assessment took part over one intensive day, " explains Honda technician assessor John Mesger Schofield. "Colin underwent six tasks of 40 minutes each, passing at least five at over 70%.

There were four technicians on the day, but Colin was the only one to pass the gruelling assessment with honours."

"Becoming a master technician confirms that his technical abilities are superb, " says SMS dealer principal John Bower. "Colin's role will develop within the business to work at both our Salcombe and Plymouth sites. He will be involved in the more difficult diagnostics jobs and be influential on the pricing and management side of the dealerships."
