Industry and sailors: working together so sailing wins
01 Nov 2005
Over the seven years of the ISS some of the biggest names in boatbuilding and sailing have met to grow sailing worldwide. Industry names such as Beneteau's Anette Roux have been matched by top sailors, like Gary Jobson.
Ron Holland was the after dinner speaker at the 2005 ISS.
This year the ISS is being staged in Room B at The RAI on Monday November 14.
The patron this year is Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and the speakers include Bruno Trouble, Rod Carr OBE, Thom Dammrich, from the NMMA and Mirko Groeschner from the BMW Oracle Racing Team.
The topics include a look at what sponsors expect for their money and a report on the "boats for education network" in Brazil.
BB's publisher, Andrew Webster, is presenting a paper during the discussion on strategies to promote sailing to a wider audience.
Ellen MacArthur's Offshore Challenges partner, Mark Turner, will be one of the after dinner speakers, talking about "Ellen MacArthur's Adventures".
Places are still available for the ISS: check the website for more details at www.sailingsummit.com
