BMF: Buy/Bye Bye advertising/2

Dear Sir, I find it increasingly difficult to take these dear people (ie, the BMF) seriously. I know there must be some very talented people in there somewhere - but dear oh dear - 'Buy or Bye Bye' - and they claim to know about marketing and sales?

Furthermore, the concomitant characteristic of weakness in the arm and voice which accompanies BMF gaffs, precludes the ability to hold up the hand and say - "It was me wot dunnit - I gottit rong agin" - gets more chronic by the year.

It takes some monumental misjudgement by BMF to draw out letters from highly experienced business leaders of the calibre of Eleanor Nelson and James Wharram ( BB August) - usually most just sigh in the face of the "Big Blues" and get on with the real business of the Marine Industry.

It is sad that the defensive responses of John Clarke and Nik Parker underwrite the sense of the previous paragraph.

My business has been a member since the days of Sandown Park - and will remain so until I am discovered to be a seditious and undesirable member - I gets discount on shows - and sadly, but to their credit, the BM(i)F announced that the discount incentive was the major reason for joining the organisation.

Finally - Nice Mr Nash - full marks to you for your fearless and honest reporting - in the face of humbug.

Power to your elbow Sir, Dave Benoy Blue Gee Ltd Please tell the lovely Poll her secret is safe with me.

From Peter Nash, editor of BB:

Dave - thanks for the compliments. But Poll says she's not sure to which of her secrets you're alluding ? Peter Nash
