Louise Ellis has joined the south coast marketing agency, Carswell Gould Associates , as a PR account executive.

Ellis joins Carswell Gould after completing a BA (Hons) in Public Relations at Bournemouth University that included a one year work placement at Pure PR in London.

With valuable experience working in a high pressured London agency, Ellis is a valuable asset and signifies the expansion of CGA's PR division.

Mike Loach has been appointed area sales manager for Johnson and Evinrude outboard motors for the UK north and Ireland at Jets Marivent .Loach has worked in the marine sector for over 20 years, starting as store manager at a West Midlands chandler in the early 80s. From there he moved to Hollywood Marine, Birmingham's largest chandler at the time, remaining there as store manager for eight years.

By the early 90s, Loach had joined Zodiac UK, where his field of expertise expanded to incorporate customer service and service station training. He was promoted to UK sales manager in the inflatable and RIB sector.

After 15 years with Zodiac, Loach hopes that Jets Marivent will provide him with new and exciting challenges whilst furthering his career within the marine industry.

Andy Harvey joins Global Rigging as a project manager from a background in aerospace engineering and more recently as operations manager at OYS.

Harvey brings considerable experience in procurement and the engineering of rig construction and will help the company move into even larger yachts and the Superyacht market.

He will build on Global's development of strategic alliances with specialist companies in order to bring the very latest technologies in composites to the market.

Eugene Baston has been appointed external relations manager at British Waterways (BW).

Formerly BW's customer relations manager, Baston will take on a new post co-ordinating Suzuki has made four new appointments to its aftersales service team, which will be based at the new purpose built aftersales, parts, finished goods distribution centre facilities at Milton Keynes that opened in July.

Garry Porter (bottom left) joins as technical co-ordinator and will be available to dealers providing specialist technical support. After 15 years at Volvo Penta, he is looking forward to being part of the team that also deals with his other passions - motorbikes and ATVs.

Since becoming customer relations manager in 2003, Baston has championed BW's drive towards openness and accountability, including the introduction of the organisation's internal complaints procedure.

He also works with BW's national stakeholders and user groups, including the newly formed British Waterways Advisory Forum (BFAW) and requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

Baston will now also oversee BW's national media and corporate communications, including liaison with Defra and the Scottish Executive.

A keen boater and qualified RYA helmsman, Baston will be supported by a team of five based at BW's head office in Watford.

brings comprehensive knowledge on service support from his experience of running two service departments in the UK's largest Peugeot dealership.

John Bailey (top left) will also be providing technical support.

He joins the company from the R&D side at EP Barrus and says he is looking forward to working with the Suzuki technology.

The fourth new member of the team is Ian Austin (bottom right) who joins as technical administrator with responsibilities for product information updates, service bulletins and factory service campaigns.
