Suzuki's 2.5HP has topped a survey on small outboard engines under 4HP, carried out by leading marine industry magazine.

"This was everyone's favourite," the test team announced as the Suzuki 2.5 four-stroke was declared the best in a tough test of four-stroke engines, including Honda's 2.3HP, Tohatsu's 3.5HP and Yamaha's 2.5HP

Suzuki's 2.5HP was found to be the smoothest and quietest, and extremely light, weighing about the same as the Honda and Tohatsu 2-stroke engines. The motor was also commended for its, large carrying handle, which makes the engine easy to lift on or off the tender, plus the metal prop that comes as standard.
