Chandlers are aware of the recent demand for an introduction to electronic navigation and the Admiralty RYA Chart Plotter is the perfect answer, offering a quick and easy solution which can be learnt in minutes.

Each chart plotter pack comes with an average of 18 ARCS (Admiralty Raster Chart Service) and navigational software packaged together covering 12 areas around the British Isles.

Strong packaging on the Admiralty RYA Chart Plotter instantly creates consumer awareness whilst offering retailers additional profit opportunities by meeting this growing electronic navigational demand.

Attention to detail is where Admiralty Leisure excels as it produces the most comprehensive range of charts and folios meeting mariner requirements, which offers chandlers' profitability by being able to supply the right charts needed, time after time.

From February, Admiralty Leisure will include an A4 laminated sheet into each of its Leisure Editions created to give mariners instant information.

One side features an RNLI Sea Safety Guide, with a quick skipper's checklist of 11 safety points, with the reverse having details on the extensive Admiralty Leisure range of products.

Additionally, there have also been two new editions to the Folio range - Oban - covering the West coast of Scotland and North Wales - from Conwy Bay to Aberystwyth.

From a chandler's point of view the Admiralty Leisure range of charts, publications and electronic navigational systems offer extensive profit opportunities as each one has been produced to the highest of standards.

Allspars - stands 72 & 73 Allspars has been appointed the UK Distributor for KarverSystems. Karver-Systems are newcomers to the high-tech rigging world; their products are designed for sailors by a team of professional sailors and they supply a range of light, reliable and very simple universal systems.

A French company, Karver has been chosen to outfit the yachts of the America's Cup, the Volvo Ocean Race and many Open 60' class, mono and multihulls, with blocks, furlers and custom hardware.

Holt - stand 70 Introducing the new stainless steel folding anchor. The unique design of the folding anchor allows it to be deployed from a stowed to an operational state in a single action.

The excellent high penetration qualities of this anchor are due to the innovative design geometry rather than weight factor.

The anchor sits in a substantially flat position when stowed. It is lightweight (3.3kg) and offers a host of possibilities in different anchor situations for vessels up to 6.6 metres, shallow draft or fast hull design, maximum weight 2.5 tonnes.

Marine Rescue Co - stand S11 To be launched at BBEx and distributed by the Marine Rescue Co, the new SOS PLB, is the ultimate in personal safety for managing man overboard (MOB) situations.

The Sea Marshall Maritime Survivor Locating Device is a 24/7, day and night, all weather system offering back-up from local SAR world-wide.

The SOS PLB alerting unit is small and discreet, simple to use, can be manually activated or is fully-automatic following immersion for 15 seconds. The antenna necklace incorporates a superbright electroluminescent light cord that transmits SOS in Morse code combined with a radio signal on the international 121.5MHz distress homing frequency.

Various base units are available: the Crewguard MOB alarm with optional autodialler and the SARfinder MOB alarm with locating function.

Marine Rescue says the device has been chosen by the world's leading coastguards/ SAR, port authorities, oil & gas offshore operators, cruising and racing owners and crews.

The SOS PLB meets H&S and SOLAS requirements, also RORC Special Regulations.

Marine Components International - stand S46 Bennett Marine, the wellknown manufacturer of trim tabs, has introduced the first NMEA 2000 compatible trim tab indicator.

This new capability will allow the boater to see his trim tab position on a GPS, sonar, chartplotter or any multifunction electronics system with NMEA 2000 capability.

The kit will retrofit all Bennett trim tab systems currently on the market.

The NMEA 2000 Marine Network Standard is an open, non-proprietary interface standard developed by the National Marine Electronics Association.

It is self-configuring, allowing different brands of electronics to communicate with each other.

This means the boater and boatbuilder can connect any NMEA 2000 compatible sensors or electronics to a common network.

Now, one display screen can show everything from engine diagnostics to water temperature, boat speed to trim tab position.

The Bennett NMEA 2000 Trim Tab Interface Kit comes ready to plug into all Lowrance Net units and is compatible with all other NMEA 2000 compliant electronics. The other major electronics manufacturers are expected to incorporate the indicator into their software over the next few months.

It can also be supplied as a stand-alone gauge using the Lowrance 2" or 4" NMEA2000 multi-function gauge.

The recommended retail price in UK is £108.63 plus VAT and the kit comprises sensor heads for the actuators, connected to an "insect" that converts the signal to NMEA2000 format, ready to plug into your network.

You will be able to see it working at BBEx on stand S46.

M G Duff - stand 81 Sales manager Chris Harris is keen to see the marine trade show return to its roots as a forum for presenting new products to the home market.

"M G Duff's core business lies in the UK and BBEx offers the opportunity of presenting new ideas and products to our UK customers. METS is an excellent platform for continental Europe and beyond, but we must not neglect our traditional customer base."

M G Duff is entering the 2006 season with a range of updated MARTYR brand special anodes to suit the latest models of outboards and sterndrives, several of which will be exhibited at BBEx. Together with distinctive retail packaging, the popular Cathodic Protection Handbook and a technical website M G Duff is striving to help the chandler and boat owner understand the importance of correct anode selection.

Half a century of protection!

M G Duff is pleased to announce their 50th year in the marine industry. Originally founded by Merlin Graham "Chunky" Duff and incorporated in 1956, the company has been in the Seabrook family since his retirement in 1960 and is now headed by managing director Andrew Seabrook.

Penguin Engineering - stand S64 It is essential for all of us who love our boating that we do as much as possible to look after the marine environment and inland waterways.

Now there's an innovative product to help us to just that - it is called the BioSok and it can be seen on the Penguin Engineering Stand - S64 (opposite the Boating Business Stand).

Placed in your bilge, it will keep it clean for an entire boating season. At the end of the season there will be no residue either, it can be simply thrown away with the normal household waste - no need for special environmental refuse containers!

Tom Eustace of Biotech Environmental, working with its marine partner, Penguin Engineering, says the awardwinning BioSok is 100% biodegradable and non toxic and was developed as a spin off from NASA technology.

The magic ingredient is scientifically modified beeswax which binds with the oil and then uses natural microorganisms to break it down naturally and disperse particles as water and carbon dioxide.

As it works, the BioSok also eliminates fumes and odour in the bilge as well as the oil.

This product is also available as a bulk agent to tackle from small to large oil and fuel spills. It can be dispersed directly as a powder or contained in large BioSoks known as Bio-Booms to form holding ponds.

For anyone who wants to help in some way to a greener environment and also banish the smells that emanate from the bilge, why not use BioSok?

For more information, come along and talk to Tom or Graham on stand S64.

Seajet - stand 44 For great antifouling performance combined with the need to care for our environment, Seajet introduce Seajet 036 Shogun-Eco, the new standard for biocide free antifoul, which was officially launched at the London Boat Show this year.

Suitable for all hull types, 036 Shogun-Eco utilises Seajet's self polishing copolymer (SPC) system and will perform well in all fouling conditions and is particularly effective against barnacles, often found in sea water and brackish (slightly salty) water.

Seajet consider that by introducing 036 Shogun-Eco, customers will have a wider, more informed choice of the type of antifoul treatment they can now apply.

With no lack of performance as a result.

Copper free and with no risk of galvanic corrosion on aluminium hulls or props, Shogun-Eco will appeal to a wide percentage of the market, and can last one season to reduce costs.

The product is clear in colour and for GRP hulls, must be applied on top of a Seajet binder coat. For steel or aluminium hulls, a Seajet epoxy primer is required.

Vetus - stand 14 Vetus is showing its new 100% watertight stainless steel deck ventilator for all types of boats.

Permanent ventilation is essential on all boats, to reduce the possibility of condensation in cold weather and to provide fresh air when the weather is hot.

Now a new, low-profile stainless steel "mushroom" deck ventilator has been added to the Vetus deck fittings range.

This version is a development of the existing Vetus range and can be closed to make it absolutely watertight, making it ideal for seagoing boats and yachts, where rougher weather conditions can be expected. In the open position, permanent ventilation is provided and the ventilator will still remain rain and splash proof.

The new ventilator is made of polished, high grade type AISI 316 stainless steel.

There are no rough edges, so bare feet will be protected on deck. The ventilator is 20cm diameter and 3cm in height.

Installation on the deck of any type of boat is very easy.

There is a stainless steel mosquito screen built in and a plastic internal trim ring completes the package.
