Minneapolis show up by 29%
01 Feb 2006
The recent 2006 Minneapolis Boat Show saw an increase in attendance of 29% over last year and an increase of 22% over the three-year average, say organisers, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).
The organisers say the decision to reduce its admission prices and - for the first time - gave children 12 and under free admission. This, they say, helped boost overall attendance.
"We saw a lot of families at this year's show, and I attribute much of that to our reduced admission costs, " said show manager Jennifer Thompson.
While neither the Paris Boat Show nor Dusseldorf quote children's prices, Paris charges ?10 for adults and Dusseldorf ?13.
That's £7 and £9 respectively against the London Boat Show admission fee of £14. PN
