Webasto's central cooling supply
01 Feb 2006
Webasto says it is the first manufacturer in the world to offer a new marine air conditioning system that operates from a central cooling air supply. This unique concept combines a central air cooling unit with separate blower outlets which enable different temperatures to be selected in individual cabins.
The central cooling unit is designed for installation well away from the cabins to provide a peaceful night's sleep on board even whilst the system is in operation.
New blowers have also been developed within the Blue Cool Select concept which are particularly quiet, further enhancing the "comfort character" of the whole system.
The company says marine air conditioning installations are often difficult due to a general lack of available space.
Webasto's engineers have solved this problem with special air ducts that feature highly efficient insulation and minimal overall dimensions.
Blue Cool Select is available in a wide range of outputs (5000-20,000Btu or 1.5- 5.8kW) and is backed by a huge selection of Webasto-designed components and accessories.
