VAT on secondhand boats

Further to our story on the problems of proving VAT payments on secondhand boats - see page 6 - the British Marine Federation (BMF) is holding a briefing on this subject at ExCeL.
For boat retailers and broker members, the briefing takes place on Thursday January 12 in Waterfront 31 and 32.
Registration is from 09.00 - 09.30 and, after a brief introduction, the VAT briefing will be given by Paddy Behan, a member of the Irish Bar who works for Grant Thornton.
He is currently national chairman of the VAT Practitioners Group and has been working with the BMF on this prickly subject.
