Dunlop succeeds Stirling

British Waterways Scotland has appointed Steve Dunlop as new director Scotland to succeed Jim Stirling. He will take up this executive role on February 1, 2006, writes Mike Balmforth.
Dunlop is currently director of regeneration at Newcastle City Council, where he has wide ranging responsibility for planning and transport, property services, strategic housing services, arts and culture, economic development and sustainable development.
Prior to his current role at Newcastle City Council, Dunlop held a variety of senior local government positions in Scotland, beginning his career in leisure management.
