Jets sells entire company to BRP
01 Jul 2006
Jets Marivent, which is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, is the biggest distributor of BRP products in Europe. It has been importing and marketing BRP products since 1993.
Over the years, Jets Marivent has, says the company, greatly contributed to building strong brand equity for the BRP product brands in the markets the BRP is about to takeover.
"Along with our dealers and business partners, we built this business from the ground up, starting out with only two models of Sea-Doo personal watercraft (PWC) in Spain over 10 years ago, " said Oliver Frols, founder and president of Jets Marivent. "Today, Jets Marivent distributes the entire line up of Sea-Doo PWC and sport boats, Can-Am ATVs, Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines and a wide variety of accessories."
Jets Marivent announced early last month that its shareholders had agreed to sell the company to an affiliate of BRP.
BRP says it marking a new phase of its international development by reinforcing its presence in European markets.
"Over time we firmly believe that this decision will provide significant benefits to dealers and consumers, " said Michel Hade, vice-president and general manager of BRP.
"We've worked with BRP for 12 years, " said Frols, "and it was always clear they would go direct at some stage, so at the end of October BRP will own the entire company and staff."
And what will Frols do now?
"I haven't really thought about it, " he told BB. "We want to get into bigger boats, but right now I'll be making sure the changeover is perfect for BRP."
