Seawork Review

Another great Seawork

Seawork really does seem to get better every year, says Peter Nash. This year the layout of the show and the style of stands announced very simply 'we're here to do business' Described as the best Seawork yet, this year's show saw 5,700 visitors (that's an unaudited figure) come to see 380 exhbitors - both figures mark an increase on last year's show of around 500 more people and 40 more stands.

And this was when the show was up against the World Cup and the cricket at the local Rose Bowl. Not a bad effort at all and Jane Wilson and her girls are to be congratulated again.

The Gala Dinner on the Tuesday night saw over 500 people attending at St Mary's Stadium for the usual fun night of food, awards and a good comedian.

The Innovations Showcase awards were made at the Gala Dinner, with Zodiac's Minuteman taking 1st place in the Vessel Design & Build category and also being adjudged the overall winner in the competition.

The Minuteman can be inflated from its source of compressed air in just 60 seconds and requires no assembly, thanks to its specialised intercommunicating valve system and Duratene TM PU highpressure inflatable deck.

Propelled by either paddles or an outboard motor (up to 30hp), the 67kg Minuteman will enable first responder rescuers to get to victims in double quick time, greatly increasing the chances of a successful rescue - made easier still by its revolutionary hinge down side door making recovery of a person simpler and quicker.

There will be a fuller Seawork review next month, but take a look at the Seawork Show Quotes scattered around these news pages for an indication of what the exhibitors thought about the show.
